Cashless Policy

January 1, 2024, We will be cashless. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Extra Seat

With the removal of Covid related travel restrictions across Canada, we will no longer be offering the option to purchase an extra seat next to you at 50% of the fare, effective November 1st, 2022.

Mandatory ID Before you go

Effective September 1st, 2024, we will require valid government-issued ID for all passengers 16 and older. Currently all passengers must travel with Government Issued Photo I.D.

Two (2) pieces of valid government-issued non-photo identification with matching names. Passengers who don’t have the correct forms of I.D. forfeit their travel with Thompson Valley Charters and/or ebus
For Example, Valid Forms of Government photo I.D. are:
  • Driver’s Licence – Provincial or Territorial
  • Passport
  • Provincial or Territorial I.D. Card
  • Canadian Armed Forces I.D.
  • Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residence Card
  • Secure Certificate of Indian Status Card
  • Corrections I.D. Card
  • Federal Police I.D. Card (RCMP)
  • City Police I.D. Card
We accept either photos or photocopies of any Government Issued Photo I.D.
Valid Forms of Government non-photo I.D. are:
  • Provincial or Territorial Health Care Cards
  • Birth Certificates
  • Social Insurance Card
  • Old Age Security Card (OAS)
  • Release notices from correction facilities
We do not accept photos or photocopies of Government Issued Non-Photo I.D.

Luggage Policy

Travelling on Thompson Valley Charters and/or ebus, we include up to two (2) pieces of luggage in the fare, this includes carry-on items (1 max). The maximum number of extra bags we allow on Ebus is four (4) for a total of six (6).  Extra bags are $19.99/bag. Bicycles can be placed under the coach but must be properly boxed or wrapped, and there is a $30 fee.

Weight Restrictions for Luggage

For any piece of luggage over 60 lbs., the driver may ask the passenger to load and unload their luggage at the pick-up and drop-off points. The passenger must be capable of loading the luggage.

Oversized Luggage

Oversized luggage including hockey bags and bikes are $30. Oversized luggage is larger than 77–85 cm high, 52.5–60 cm wide, and 29–35 cm deep
Bikes must be wrapped in a manner that the pedals, chains and tires will not cause damage.  A bike box or cloth material is required.  We will not accept bikes wrapped in plastic.
Skiis and snowboards must be in a zippered carry case.

Carry-on Luggage

Passengers travelling onThompson Valley Charters and/or ebus are permitted one (1) carry-on only. Carry-on items must be able to fit in the overhead bin.
Dimensions of Overhead Bins: 60” wide, 10” deep, 8¾” high angling to 7½” high at the back.
  • Carry-on items considered include personal items such as; briefcases, laptop bags, purses, small backpacks, diaper bags etc.
  • Carry-on must be kept in overhead bins 
  • Carry-on items cannot be stored on empty seats The aisle must be kept clear of carry-on items, including shoulder straps. 
  • The following items you should always pack in your carry-on to limit the possibility of loss or damage: laptop computers, car and house keys, medication, cash, high-value items such as; cameras, jewelry, and electronic devices.

Protection of Luggage

  • In an effort to protect all luggage stored under the coach, pack your items and or cover them in such a way as to not damage them during transit or not to damage other luggageor Thompson Valley Charters and/or ebus reserves the right to refuse improper and unsecured baggage. All items must be in a suitable container that is not at risk of being damaged or causing damage. Acceptable baggage includes things like suitcases, duffel bags, toolboxes, trunks, backpacks, storage containers, and securely taped cardboard boxes.  Whether or not luggage is determined to be secure for transportation is at the discretion of the Thompson Valley Charters and/or ebus staff in order to ensure the safe transportation of all items. 
  • To avoid luggage mix-ups, we recommend that you place a visible identifier on your stored luggage including a luggage tag with your name, address and phone number. Thompson Valley Charters and/or ebus is not responsible for a passenger picking up the wrong piece of luggage.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure your checked luggage is put in the correct compartment prior to departure as well, it is your responsibility to remove all personal items brought on to the coach, Ebus will not be responsible for items left behind on the coach or luggage issues as a result of a change in your arrival point.
  • Please ensure you clearly advise the representative loading the luggage of your arrival point, to ensure your luggage is in the appropriate compartment.

Damaged/Lost/Abandoned Luggage

  • Maximum baggage liability is $350.00. 
  • Thompson Valley Charters and/or ebus is not responsible for the loss of, or damage to checked, luggage in excess of stated maximum liability.
  • Thompson Valley Charters and/or ebus not accept liability for loss of, or damage to, unchecked baggage carried on board, or items that do not comply with our policies stated above.
  • Please report any damage to Thompson Valley Charters by phone 1-250-377-7523 or email info@tvcbus.ca within 24 hours or the claim may be refused.
  • Lost & Found items found onboard our coaches or in one of our offices will be kept for a period of 30 days before being disposed of.
  • Thompson Valley Charters and/or ebus does not allow for overnight storage of luggage in any of our locations. Luggage that has been left behind and deemed by staff to be purposely abandoned will be disposed of after 96 hours without contact from the owner, or 7 days with contact. 
  • Items that have been left at one of our secondary locations will be sent to the nearest main ticket office. 

Prohibited Items

  • Ammunition and Bear Spray are not allowed on board any of our coaches or in our luggage storage area. Guns may be placed in our luggage bin only if they are in a locked container.
  • We do not allow marijuana or alcohol onboard under any circumstances.

Luggage Checks

Thompson Valley Charters and/or ebus retains the right to conduct a search of all carry-on luggage without prior notice. Failure to comply with this policy will not be tolerated and may lead to forfeiture of travel.

Traveling With Firearms

Accepted firearms: Only hunting rifles, shotguns, BB guns, paintball guns, biathlon rifles, air pistols, are accepted and must be placed underneath the coach.
  • If you’re planning to travel with firearms, please make sure to read the information we’ve provided below.
  • There is a charge of $50 plus taxes for each firearm and is considered a piece of luggage.
  • A special luggage tag will be issued where your name, address and phone number must be filled. Photo Id must match the information on this tag in order to retrieve your item.
  • The Firearms declaration must be printed signed and presented to the ticket agent or driver at remote locations (DOWNLOAD).
  • When travelling with firearms, you’re advised to be at the office a full 30 minutes before departure (not required at remote stops).
  • All firearms must be unloaded (secured with a trigger lock) and stored within a hard shell case and locked.
  • Ammunition is NOT allowed on board or under the coach.

Carry-On Items*

*Please note that due to enhanced safety measures, only one carry-on is permitted per person. Carry-on items are restricted to essential items only. This includes water, medications, electronic devices, etc. All carry-on items must be kept in the overhead compartment and cannot be stored underneath the seat.
Passengers travelling with Thompson Valley Charters are allowed three (3) pieces of luggage in total. Your carry-on bag* must be able to fit into the overhead compartment, and only one (1) bag per person is allowed, with essential items only. The maximum number of pieces allowed on is six (6). Charges for extra luggage are noted below.
Carry-on items must fit in the overhead bins and can include briefcases, laptop bags, purses, small back packs, diaper bags, and such.
Carry-on items must be stored in the overhead bins during travel.
Due to safety issues, carry-on items cannot be placed on empty seats as it could become a projectile in the case of a sudden stop.
The aisle must be kept clear of carry-on items, including shoulder straps.
Alcohol is not permitted on board under any circumstances.
The following items should always be carried in your carry-on to limit the possibility of loss or damage: laptop computers, car and house keys, medication, cash, high value items such as cameras, jewelry, and electronic devices.

Charges for Extra Luggage

Effective June 1, 2019, passengers will be charged for all additional luggage at the rate of $15.00 per piece (includes GST). Bicycles may be transported at a cost of $20.00 each (includes GST) and must be boxed or wrapped to ensure safe transportation (see “Protection of Luggage” below).
Thompson Valley Charters has the right to refuse items deemed not to be essential or luggage. As well, we reserve the right to limit the size, weight and the number of items you wish to check in.
The maximum extra bags allowed is three (3) for a maximum of six (6). Exceeding the total number of bags allowed is not negotiable and refusal to comply will result in refusal of service.

Firearms

A firearm may be transported as long as it is in a proper locked case and must be placed under the coach. The firearm cannot be taken out at any mid-trip stops. A hard case is preferred, but not mandatory. We DO NOT transport ammunition.

60” wide, 10” deep, 8¾” high angling to 7½” high at the back.

Essential Items

Items deemed essential for the well-being of our passengers will be transported at no charge. These items would include: walking or mobility aids/devices, car seats, and oxygen canisters.
